What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is an interesting word that describes a wide range of activities. Whether it is the clown at the birthday party, the Broadway show, the stadium rock concert, or even your friends fighting over the last potato chip—it’s all entertainment. This broad and often ephemeral genre of entertainment reflects the evolution of human culture as it continually adapts to meet our societal needs, from private, self-directed recreation and leisure activities; to formal, scripted public performances that involve theater or music; and to the growing number of individualized digital media options.
