What is Entertaiment?
Entertaiment is a broad term for shows put on for people to enjoy. The word comes from the Medieval Latin inter tenere, with the prefix inter meaning “inside,” and tenere referring to holding something inside or stretching it out.
It is often thought that entertainment is a frivolous activity, but it can also have serious purposes. It can be a vehicle for moral instruction, as in the case of religious festivals, ceremonies, satire, and other cultural forms. It can be designed for a range of audiences, from two people to an entire city.
